Previews
Filestor previews common file types in the browser, including text, Markdown, images, PDFs, video, and Office files when conversion support is available.
Search
- Use search to find indexed file names and text content across connected roots.
- Press Ctrl+K (⌘K on a Mac) on any workspace page, choose Search in the sidebar or Search this folder in the Explorer toolbar, or press / in the sidebar to open the search palette.
- Opened from a folder, the palette searches that folder; opened from Notes, the open vault; opened from Home or Settings, all your volumes. Choose Search everywhere, or press Backspace in the empty box, to search all your volumes.
- Results are grouped into Notes, Files and Actions, with the matching text highlighted. Use the arrow keys and Enter, or click, to open one: a note opens in Notes, a file is selected in its Explorer folder.
- Editors can also create a note named after what they typed, or, opened from a folder or vault, upload files to it.
- Type the name of a Settings section, such as Billing or Audit log, to go straight to it. Only the sections you can use are offered.
- Search covers the names of all notes and files, and the text of notes and text files as of the last reindex, so newly created or edited content is found by name until then.
Versions
- Open version history from a selected file when native versioning is available: choose Version history in its context menu, or in the Versions section of the preview panel on S3 volumes.
- Restore an older version to make it the current file.
- Use undelete when the provider exposes a previous version behind a delete marker.
- Agent-backed roots and providers without native version APIs can report versioning unavailable.
